Solar Panels

Solar panels have been a popular alternative to conventional energy sources for decades. These panels harness electricity from sunlight using thinly cut silicon cells. Each individual cell can create a small amount of electricity, but they must be linked together in order to achieve voltages high enough to run today’s households.

The first solar panels were considerably more bulky and cumbersome than those of today. Modern designs are much more advanced, resulting in much lower profile panels. Some of the most advanced panels are nearly indistinguishable from the roof shingles.

Today’s solar panels are much more efficient than they’ve ever been in the past. Due to significant advances in photovoltaic technology, today’s panels are capable of producing higher voltages and producing them much more consistently. As this technology continues to improve, there is no doubt that the panels of the future will be even more capable.
