Energy Efficiency
“Energy efficiency” as a term refers to the idea of using a minimal amount of energy to create a maximum effect. The term has a variety of different applications, but is most commonly used when referring to electricity usage. Computers, home appliances, and even the homes themselves all vary in their energy consumption.
When buying household appliances, energy efficiency is of the utmost importance. Appliances such as refrigerators are among the biggest energy consumers in the home, and as a result, the less energy it uses the lower your monthly utility bills will be. Washers, dryers, ovens and furnaces are also big energy consumers.
Proper insulation can also help increase the energy efficiency of the home. Simply put, the better the insulation the less energy it takes to adequately heat and cool the house. This results in lower energy bills for the homeowner.
